CHIC - Dark Side of The Mood - Swatches & Review

The Israeli brand CHIC released a new collection at the beginning of this month. The new collection consists of six classic shades for winter, three of them have a glossy finish and three have a new formula with a matte finish. CHIC carries a matte top coat as a part of their nail care products, but this is actually the first time they are launching a color polish with a matte finish.

In this post I will be showing you four of the colors that I received for review.

CHIC Blue Space Matt (933) - Navy blue creme with a matte finish, 2 coats

This polish has the most opaque formula among the four I got to try. Dry time was fast and the effect appears within less than five minutes. I really liked this shade, mainly because of it's great formula. I liked the finish of this polish, although I would describe it as a "plastic" finish rather than "matte".

CHIC Hot Red Matt (932) - Red creme with matte finish, 2 coats

The formula of this shade was pretty nice as well. Great pigment and opaque. Drying time and the matte finish were identical for all of the matte polishes in this collection.

I find this shade to be really great - simple, classy, can't go wrong there.

CHIC Midnight Matt(931) - Black creme with matte finish, 2 coats

Being the darkest color in this collection, I was expecting a good coverage with the first coat, but this turned to be a bit sheer. I ended up using two coat and got a perfect coverage, so no complaints there.

I personally really like this pure black with a matte finish, there's something really cool and effortless.

CHIC Winter Green (934) - Emerald green with a creme-jelly formula, 2 coats

After trying three shades with a matte finish , this polish was a nice change. It has a beautiful and shiny finish. The formula is somewhat a combination of creme and jelly, which is a bit sheer for my opinion, and you can still see some bald spots under it. What I do like about this kind of formula is that it's great for a jelly sandwich. Overall I liked the color and the glossy finish is quite impressive.

The collection has two more glossy shades that are not included in this review; a dark gray (50's Gray) and red (Brownies Red). Actually I'm pretty curious to see if they have the same jelly-like formula like Winter Green has. 

Overall I think this is a nice collection with some classy colors for this season. Hopefully CHIC have some more tricks up their sleeves, and they might release some new shades and collection soon (glitter maybe?).
