So I thought I should post about something more cheerful than my last post, and I decided to share with you my current mani.
This is a design inspired by the exotic Dragon Fruit (also known as Pitaya). This is a beautiful and colorful fruit, I've tasted it before but can't recall the taste so much because it was a long time ago. I remember it being delicious and refreshing, not too sweet nor sour, but really nice - so if you have a chance to taste this, do it! :) I know I will keep an eye for this one.
Actually this nail art was created sort of by accident, I was going for a subtle look as a base for some nail art, but then realized I probably picked a bit brighter color than I originally intended to. I realized this too late, I already had the gradient ready and it was a shame to remove it. Then I rememberd I wanted to do a design inspired by the Dragon Fruit once, so I took advantage of this opportunity.
To create this design I started with a white base, then created over it a gradient with Barry M Grapefruit and Wet n Wild French White Creme. I applied one coat of Out The Door Northern Lights which is a very delicate holo micro glitter, it is really hard to see at all because the matte top coat over it kind of kills the holo effect, but if you look up closely you can see tiny silver glitter.
To recreate the black seeds look I used black and silver shreds nail polish by Modi 48 (Korean brand).
At first I sealed it with one coat of Poshe which also helped smooth the rough surface of the shreds, but then I thought I should try a matte top coat (Revlon) and I really liked the look with it, so I kept it this way.
I think this came out pretty nice for an unplanned design, it was actually a nice surprise. This is such a lovely inspiration, I would love to make another fruit inspired nail art again and of course share it with you.
Would love to hear your thought about this mani, and if you might have any ideas for new fruit inspired manis, please feel free to share!
